INVERCARGILL CUP DAY - Day 1

For R40 to R59 trotters. Front: R40 to R50. 15m: R51 to R59. This race will be selected on ratings, highest to lowest.

For R60 & faster trotters. This race will have a maximum back mark of 30 metres.

For 2-year-old pacing fillies. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes using the track grid. In the event this race is not held, those remaining horses will be transferred to 7 or 9 and conditions changed.

For 2-year-old pacing colts & geldings. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes using the track grid. In the event this race is not held, those remaining horses will be transferred to races 7 or 9 and conditions changed.

For 3-year-old pacing fillies. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes using the track grid.

For R35 to R60 3yo pacing colts & geldings with winning stakes up to and including $30000 for lifetime. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes using the track grid. Race winning three years olds eligible for this race will not be permitted to accept for any other race on the same Programme, unless the SBSR Southern Solstice race field is full (13 acceptors)

If Races 3 or 4 are not held those eligible horses will be transferred to this race and conditions changed.

For R45 to R55 pacing mares. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating then Winning Stakes using the track grid.

For R40 to R69 pacers. This race will be split (if entries permit) by Ratings/Conditions, meaning a higher rating 1-win pacer may be included in a lower rating race. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary. Selection preference in the first instance will be for R40-R69 4yo and older colts and geldings, mares R56-R59 and 3YO colts and geldings not eligible for the Sires Stakes Southern Solstice race. In the likelihood races 5,6 and 8 are full eliminated horses or non acceptors will become eligible for this race and conditions changed to accommodate those horses and then become eligible. In the event Races 3 or 4 are not run (2YOs), those remaining race-winning acceptors will become eligible for and transferred to this race.

For R40 to R69 pacers. This race will be split (if entries permit) by Ratings/Conditions, meaning a higher rating 1-win pacer may be included in a lower rating race. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary. Selection preference in the first instance will be for R40-R69 4yo and older colts and geldings, mares R56-R59 and 3YO colts and geldings not eligible for the Sires Stakes Southern Solstice race. In the likelihood races 5,6 and 8 are full eliminated horses or non acceptors will become eligible for this race and conditions changed to accommodate those horses and then become eligible. In the event Races 3 or 4 are not run (2YOs), those remaining race-winning acceptors will become eligible for and transferred to this race.

For R70 to R120 pacers. Front: R70 to R90. 10m: R91 to R110. 20m: R111 to R120. A $10,000 (HRNZ) Bonus will be given to owners if a mare wins the Cup. Also a $10,000 (HRNZ) Bonus will be given if a 4yo competes in the $200k Addington Feature run on 6th December and runs in the first three placings in the Cup (one only payment for the first one past the post in the first 3 placings)
